Anyone ever go to shows at Ruthie's Inn? I remember my first punk show there, and, a couple of years later.....(cough)....a couple of metal shows. :O

ha...spent plenty of time there. I just surprised one of my dearest friends with an unworn Laaz Rockit T-shirt. She was laughing so hard so was crying! Oh to be young and wearing spandex (groan) I'll never let her live it down. : )

I recall the Uptones opening for FYC at the Greek! I used to go to the Ska Dance nights at Ruthies and I remember seeing Suicidal Tendancies there. They really did come across like a bunch of A-Holes but it was a good show.

Well well. Some fine moments for me included: Roadie-ing for 13 and doing their posters for numerous Ruthie's shows, Brain Brains shows, Dickies show, Code of Honor, putting on a few New Romantics dance parties there with my and Ian Negativland as D.J./M.C.s (Wes didn't really understand that). But then again ... it was also so nice and close to both Receiving Studios ... now that's another story ... right?

The Ruthie's reunion show was awesome! Thanks to the DMR Twins Toni & Rachel and all the others folks that made it happen. It was like a three decade "punk rock high school reunion"! I saw people that I have known for over 30 years, and span a long period of going to Ruthie's for everything from R&B, Funk & Soul dance night, to punk, to Metal shows. And many of these same people went to all of it!

    I'll never forget it.

    Jon
